Citing Internet Sources

To find success with research, you must synthesize your information and express it in your own words!

NO COPY AND PASTE!
This is called "plagiarism" - it can get you kicked out of school and can get you in deep trouble with the original writer! So if you don't want to be running from a pack of angry scholars, be sure you read the following.

**For each internet source that you access, you must be sure to document:**
- the website
- the author
- the date of publication
- the date of access

Example of properly documented internet source:

Structure:
Author or originator. Title of item. [Online] Date of document or download (day, month, year). URL http://address/filename.

Example:
U.S. Census Bureau. "American FactFinder: Facts About My Community." [Online] 17 August 2001. <http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/BasicFactsServlet>.
